What does ISO certification entail?

ISO stands for International Organization for Standardization, and it’s a global standard that covers many different areas. Today, many companies require their suppliers to be certified in one or more ISO standards, and in some industries it is even required by law. ISO certification can also play an important role in tendering processes, where being certified is either a requirement or an extra point.

Some of the most widely used ISO standards include:

ISO 9001: Quality (focuses on continuous improvement of the quality of products and services)
ISO 14001: Environment (about identifying and improving your company’s environmental impact)
ISO 45001: Occupational health and safety (focuses on mapping and improving the working environment)
A company that is ISO certified shows that it has a high level of commitment to the area in question and is actively working to improve it continuously.
