To solve these challenges, the company chose to implement OpenDIMS, a Product Information Management (PIM) system known for its ability to centralize and organize data. OpenDIMS was customized to the company’s needs, including the integration of their specific wishes and requirements, which had to be programmed from scratch. This adaptability allowed the system to be tailored precisely to the furniture company’s unique requirements.

The existing data and files were easily transferred to OpenDIMS and employees were trained to use the system effectively. The company uses many different systems that OpenDIMS had to integrate with, such as Shopify, Dandomain, Salesforce, PIM system and Navision, where data had to be retrieved from and forwarded to. For example, all products and product categories in Shopify are updated directly from OpenDIMS.
